Nature Care Horn of Africa (NACHA) organized a 4-day capacity development workshop for about 40 small-scale fisheries stakeholders in Mogadishu, covering the full value chain from harvest to fish handling, processing and packaging. Participants included fishers, processors and traders, women and youth group members, and local fisheries officers.
Through short presentations, live demonstrations and hands-on group practice, participants learned responsible harvesting, hygienic handling and icing, basic processing such as filleting, drying and salting, and market-ready packaging, together with business, safety and environmental skills. The workshop aimed to cut post-harvest losses and raise the quality and market value of local fish, with particular attention to women and youth. Read the full report in the Published category.
